Terms and Conditions for entry to Your Ceremony 2024 Competition

THIS AGREEMENT in respect of the Win Your Ceremony Prize Draw is dated ______________________________2024
Parties
- CHESHIRE EAST BOROUGH COUNCIL whose principal address is at Delamere House, Delamere Street, Crewe, CW1 2JZ (the Council) by it’s CHESHIRE EAST REGISTRATION SERVICE (the Service).

This document contains the Terms and Conditions for the Competition to win a Ceremony. All parts of this document form part of the Agreement.
The Competition is open to any person of whatever gender and without discrimination of any kind.
Competition is available to new and existing Ceremony bookings and covers the wedding ceremony only.
General Terms and Conditions of Agreement
- For convenience and certainty in this Agreement
- The Winner of the Competition is referred to as “You” and derivations such as “your” will apply accordingly
- The Cheshire East Registration Service is referred to as “the Service”
- The Competition is the Competition to win the cost of a Ceremony, as set out and referred to in this Agreement
- A Ceremony is a civil ceremony in accordance with the marriage act 1949 and the Civil Partnership Act, 2004 or a celebration ceremony with no legal standing
- The Application is the Application made online which you completed to enter the Competition and you confirm that you read the terms and conditions of the Competition before doing so.
- For the purposes of this competition, Social Media Platforms means
- TikTok
- You entered into a Competition staged by the Service by responding to any of the following opportunities:
- responding to the opportunity on Facebook and pressing the ‘like’ button
- responding to the opportunity on Instagram and pressing the ‘like’ button
- responding to the opportunity on TikTik and pressing the ‘like’ button
Multiple Applications across the Social Media Platforms are allowed and each entry will class as an individual Application with a maximum of three Applications per person.
- You confirmed that you complied with the conditions of the competition when you signed the Application form subject to which you entered the Competition
- You understand that your continued entitlement to be in the Competition, up to its completion, is subject to your compliance and it is your responsibility to inform the Service immediately of any change in relevant circumstances; and fidelity is a fundamental part of the agreement for both You and the Service.
- If You are the Winner of the Competition on its completion, You will be offered the Ceremony which is strictly limited in value to £875.
- You are planning your wedding during 2025 – 2026 and it is to take place at The Municipal Buildings - Crewe, Macclesfield Town Hall or an Approved Venue which must be in the district of Cheshire East (in accordance with the Approved Venues on the Cheshire East Website: yourceremony.org.uk/approved-premises ). The wedding will be conducted and/or legally registered by the Service.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that legal requirements of marriage are met.
It is the responsibility of the Winner to book and absorb any costs incurred by completion/application of the legal marriage requirements such as notice of marriage, hiring the ceremony/reception venue and associated travel costs.
- At all times the requirements of the Service, being of general application, must be complied with and are wholly under the control of the Service and may be changed at any time having regard to the exigencies of the Service.
- The prize is strictly personal; non transferable; and there is no cash alternative being offered.
- Competition closing date for validly completed Applications is Monday 9th December 2024 .
- The Winner will be chosen at random and by chance by a neutral person at a time and place, with others present, in a process wholly under control of the Service which has been notified via the Social Media Platform they entered on. At the same time other ‘backup’ Winners will be chosen who will be selected in sequence to have effect if a drop out occurs. The Winner and back up Winners will be notified.
- The Winner will have 5 working days to respond and confirm their wedding ceremony details. If not done, the next drop out Winner will be deemed to have been selected. The Winner’s names will be published in any Cheshire East Registration Service publications, Social Media Platforms or relevant websites. Winners will be asked to consent to take part in promotional activities for the Service regarding their Ceremony.
- The Winner must be reasonably available to the Service during the progress of the Competition for purpose of checking and confirming details.Special Terms and Conditions
- The Competition is only open to all residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 and over, except:
- employees of the Council;
- employees of agents or suppliers of the Council who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or members of the immediate families or households of (i) and (ii) above.
- The Service reserves all rights to disqualify any entrant if any relationships mentioned above have not been declared in advance by any entrant and accepted by the Service as not affecting eligibility.
- The Decision of the Service on any matter connected with the Competition is final and only very limited correspondence or discussion can be entered into.
- Any personal data relating to the Winner and any other entrants will be used solely for the purposes of this Competition by the Service and will not be disclosed to a third party for any other purpose. Any personal data will be handled in accordance with the Service’s privacy policy, available at http://www.yourceremony.org.uk/privacy-policy The Winner of the Competition, agree that the Service may use their personal details, image and town or County of residence to announce the Winner of this competition and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes.
- Insofar as is permitted by law, the Council, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the Winner or any entrant or accept any liability, under contract or any other branch of law or head of claim for any claims, loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of entering the competition except where it is caused by the negligence of the Council, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Any statutory rights are not affected.
- The Service cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the Competition or as a result of accepting any prize.
- No person other that the entrants to the Competition and the Service is intended to be able to take any advantage or right under or within the Competition or any matter mentioned in this Agreement.
- The Service is the sole interpreter of the meaning and the application of these Terms and Conditions; the sole arbiter of whether there has been a breach of these terms and conditions; and the Service may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude any person from participating in the Competition at any time.
- The Service reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Competition where it becomes necessary or proper to do so in its absolute discretion, without liability.
- The Service reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of the Terms and Conditions
- This competition is promoted by the Service, this promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Meta and TikTok.
- The Competition shall be governed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.
