Planning your Cheshire Wedding
Once you’ve chosen your perfect Cheshire Wedding venue, you need to make sure the registrar is there to join you on your Wedding Day too. You can check availability and provisionally book the registrar in Cheshire East up to three years in advance, contact the ceremonies office on 01270 375140. Think about what you want to do on your big day (a daytime and evening event or maybe a later ceremony followed by a dinner) make your wish list flexible and be open to different ideas.
Once you have the venue and the registrar booked, begin to think then about the individual (musicians, photographers, florists) who may only accommodate one event per day – the quicker you make these decisions the more likely you are to be able to book your first choice.
Once you get to one year before the ceremony date you need to arrange for both and your partner to ‘give notice of your intention to marry’ these are the legal preliminaries to marriage which must be completed to allow the wedding to go ahead. You will need documents to prove who you are (usually passport) along with a utility bill or bank statement (to prove your residence in that district) along with documents to show any previous marriage or civil partnership has finished (either a death certificate of your former spouse or Decree Absolute if you are divorced). If you are booking ahead of one year we will remind you about when you need to give notice of marriage. This appointment is made in the district in which you live, and may be different to the district in which you are marrying – contact us and we will advise you further.
If either you or your partner is subject to immigration controls contact our ceremonies team as soon as possible for more information.
