Wedding Law Reform – what does this mean for our big day?
You may have spotted some wedding news, there’s been a fresh update from the Law Commission around wedding law reform! At Your Ceremony, we’re all about making your special day truly yours, and this reform could eventually open-up even more possibilities for where and when you can legally say “I do”.
That said, we want to keep things clear: there’s no official change just yet. The government has been reviewing the Law Commission’s recommendations since 2022 (and that review was commissioned in 2014!). So, whilst this latest announcement could see changes, the next milestone will be a consultation expected to begin in early 2026 and any legal changes will depend on when Parliament can make time for them.
We’re keeping a close eye on developments and promise to keep you updated every step of the way.
